Julian Speroni: Looked comfortable throughout the game and when he was rarely called into action he did so with minimal fuss. A top keeper at this level. 7

Nathaniel Clyne: The young defender kept the dangerous George Boyd quiet the entire game and also made a vital clearance off the line with the scores still level. 8

Clint Hill: Shrugged off an injury that hampered him in midweek and played with his usual steadiness and reliability at the heart of the defence. 7 Claude Davies: The no nonsense defender used his imposing frame to dominate both in the air and on the ground. His pace was a real bonus for the Eagles as he was rarely threatened by the lively Craig Mackail-Smith. 8

Lee Hills: Struggled in the first half and appeared the weak link of the side. However as the game grew on so did his confidence as he played an important role in the decisive second goal with a raiding run down the wing before finding Ambrose. 6

Shaun Derry: Showed precisely why Neil Warnock gives him the captain’s armband. Never afraid to put a challenge in when needed the combative midfielder was full of running and is exactly the type of player the Eagles will need in a relegation scrap. 8

Nick Carle: Reinstated back into the starting line up the midfielder continues to find his feet after not featuring for a while. He kept the play flowing with some intelligent passes and also helped the side with his defensive duties. 7

Neil Danns: Looks to have well and truly put his injury nightmares behind him. The sought after midfielder capped off an all action performance with two sublime finishes, earning his side all three points. The engine room of the side, he will be imperative to Palace’s season if they can keep hold of him. Man of the match. 9

Darren Ambrose: Palace’s top goal scorer had an uncharacteristically quiet game. Floated in and out of play but showed his touch of class with an exquisite inch perfect pass to Neil Danns for the decisive goal. 7

Danny Butterfield: Played out of position on the far right and at times as a second striker but run himself into the ground and should have added his name the scoresheet on a number of occasions. Contender for Man of the match had Danns not scored a brace. 9

Alan Lee: The target man played his role to perfection until he was substituted midway through the second half. Won countless headers and brought others into play, however he found himself isolated for large periods and rarely threatened the opposition goal. 7

Subs: Kieran Djilali (Hills, 70): Another product of the youth academy the young winger was willing to take on his marker and showed glimpses of trickery with a few runs down the flank. 6

Calvin Andrew (Lee, 70): A like for like substitution for Lee. A lot like the man he replaced won countless headers to continue the attack for his side but rarely looked like scoring. 6

Sean Scannell (Ambrose, 88): Not given enough time to make an impact but Palace fans will be pleased to see the young striker back after his injury layoff. 6
