A man has died after falling from his van into the path of another car near the Ikea superstore this morning.
The van driver, believed to be in his late 40s, was struck by a mini travelling in the opposite direction along Ampere Way just after 8am.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by crews from the London Ambulance Service(LAS).
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: "At this early stage it appears that the male driver of a van fell out of his own vehicle and into the path of an oncoming car."
Two LAS fast response cars, an ambulance crew and the air ambulance were all sent to the scene.
Police investigators based at the Catford Traffic Garage are investigating.
