Police witness fatal sports car crash
Police witnessed a fatal car crash on Saturday when a sports car overturned in Putney Hill.
A 41-year-old driver died after the yellow Lotus Exige overturned at about 9.30pm on Saturday, yards from a police car.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said officers saw the crash on Saturday night but were not in pursuit.
He said: “A police vehicle witnessed another vehicle overturn near the junction with St John’s Avenue. The driver was the only person in the vehicle. An air ambulance attended but the man was declared dead at 10.04pm.”
The man's next of kin have been informed, but his name has not been released.
