AFC Kings All Stars U10 3 Coulsdon Jets U10 Cup Game 0

Another autumnal, sunny and cold morning saw the Kings kick off riding high after two previous wins. Could they make it three? And a cup game to boot.

The Kings started strongly, Tyler to Hugo who chipped midfield to Archie with a penetrating run deep in to Coulsdon's goal area, and crossed... but it was just wide.

This was the tempo for the first 20 minutes, thrust, thrust and parry deep into Coulsdon's half. But it took George with his multiple gears who screamed past the Coulsdon's defence to win a corner.

With a well rehearsed move Lewis's cross found Hugo's feet, who drifted off his defender and shot to open the scoring.

With their noses in front, the Kings started the second half playing their game. Twinkle toe Tyler interlinking with George, Hugo, Archie and Lewis.

A great passing game dragging Coulsdon around the park. Lewis to Hugo to George who cut infield and was summarily cut down with a scything tackle 30 yards from goal.

Joe stepped up and thundered a magnificent shot into the net, just under the bar. The keeper dived after ball had hit the net, so much power was in the shot.

Coulsdon’s frustration started to show and this resulted in late and rash tackles. Instead of retaliating, the Kings showed their disgust with their football.

Joe to Lewis who turned and passed to Hugo who went on a Giggs run down the wing. With great ball control he took the ball into the area and shot to make it 3-0.

If Coulsdon were not happy earlier, they definitely weren't now, with some fierce tackling. The Kings let their play do the talking and, by the final whistle, Coulsdon had learnt a valuable lesson.

For his exquisite play down the wings and corners won, George was man of the match.
