The Elmbridge Guardian can confirm the borough's Tory councillors will meet at a secret venue tomorrow evening (Thursday, December 3) to choose their next leader.
A secret ballot will take place, where the Elmbridge Guardian understands councillors will have to choose between Oxshott and Stoke D'Abernon Councillor Jan Fuller, Hersham South Councillor John O'Reilly and Esher Councillor Tim Oliver.
Current leader Coun Roy Taylor recently annouced he would be standing down as leader at the next elections in May or June.
He said he would continue in the position until then.
Coun Fuller was the only one of the three to confirm she was running for the position, but said she did not want to make any further comment at this time.
Coun O'Reilly said he would neither deny or confirm it and Coun Oliver could not be contacted.
One source told the Elmbridge Guardian that Coun Oliver was the favourite as the impression among the councillors was it is "Esher's turn" to have the leadership.
