Companies, individuals and organisations that provide an excellent service to the community were honoured at the 2009 Enterprising Roehampton awards.

The awards, now in their third year, are organised by Wandsworth Council in conjunction with Roehampton University.

The award winners are nominated by the public and this year included restaurateurs, youth workers, shop keepers and local police officers.

Councillor James Cousins, who spoke at the event, said: “All the award winners have made a real difference to the area. "It is the small businesses and individuals who create the jobs and ad opportunities that, collectively, will pull us out of recession and help towards the longer term regeneration of Roehampton, whatever form that takes.”
