As the term comes to an end, Surbiton High School is preparing for yet another very exciting event. On Thursday 10th December, the Surbiton High School assembly rooms will host a fashion show in which many girls will take part. The pupils were given the task to create an outfit out of recycled clothing and fabric and were unable to buy anything new. The outfits were created in classes and had to be the colour of the house that all the girls in the form were in. Once created the girls then had to select a model from each class to model their dress to the rest of their house in the school. Each year group in each house created one dress to show and then the 6th form leaders selected the dress that will be used to represent the house for the school on the catwalk. As well as the pupils creating the outfits that will be on the catwalk, the school has also managed to ask famous high street brands e.g. New Look for some clothing that the girls can model and luckily the girls who wanted to model will have the opportunity to wear high street bran clothing while strutting their stuff on the catwalk!

The assembly rooms will be transformed with a professional catwalk being put up and the hall being decorated with drapes and sparkles. All of the girls are very excited about the event and I asked Isabelle Kabban, a year 10 pupil how she felt about the catwalk show. “I’m very excited about the Fashion show and I think that it’s a really good way to end such a good term. We will also get to see talent from girls that we wouldn’t expect it and get to see the inventive ways that our friends created dresses. I’m also excited to see some of my friends up on the catwalk and think it will be a night enjoyed by everyone!” Tickets are being sold in the school’s reception but are selling very fast! So will you be attending the Surbiton High School Fashion Show of 2009?
