Crystal Palace's cash crisis deepened on Saturday as players and management were told their wages were being delayed by ten days.

Manager Neil Warnock told the players in the dressing room after Saturday's 3-0 win over Watford at Selhurst Park that they would not be receiving their monthly pay packet until next Tuesday at the earliest.

It is the latest financial setback for the club who were twice placed under a transfer embargo earlier in the season due to monies owed to ex-players and other clubs.

Manager Warnock though threw his backing behind chairman Simon Jordan and insisted the players took the news well.

"It was difficult on Saturday as I knew before the game," he said.

"It was good that we got such a good result though as if I had told them after we got beat it would have been a lot worse.

"The players were good about it and I'm trying to think really positively and say it's about time we started to help the chairman out as he has done so much for the club.

"He has a bit of a cash flow problem at the minute and we all get those from time to time so we just need to hep him out.

"He assures us it will be sorted by next Tuesday."
