Banstead scored three goals away from home, most games that would be enough to take all the points.

Unfortunately, the opposition scored five.

The visitors were 1-0 up within ten minutes through Gavin Quintin.

Paul Brady didn't come out for a cross on 32 minutes and Smith of Badshot Lea equalised.

Banstead were caught again just before half-time, when a player wasn't tracked by Ross Chalke, he got around him, hit a cross and Blake made it 2-1.

Shortly after the start of the second half, Badshot Lea were 3-1 up as Alistair John allowed Prentice to get goal side to score.

Banstead then put a string of passes together and, on 55 minutes, Sinclair hit a scorcher from the 18-yard box that found the bottom corner of the net.

On 68 minutes, Badshot Lea got their fourth and Smith's second against the run of play, when Banstead were pushing for the equaliser.

There fifth through Griffiths put the game beyond Banstead's reach, but Banstead were not finished, because Quintin got his second and Banstead's third on 89 minutes.

They did have two more efforts one from sub Ross White, which was well saved, and a shot that went wide.

Manager Paul Norris said: "I can't fault the effort or committment, but we have got to stop sides getting around us."
