New digital technology will make life easier for motorists who want to contest parking tickets and fines for “moving traffic offences” like driving in bus lanes or stopping in yellow box junctions.
Motorists can now view CCTV evidence of their alleged offence from their home computer via Lambeth Council’s website.
The new system means motorists who feel they have been wrongly issued a ticket do not have to go through the hassle of making an appointment to view the footage at council offices in Brixton.
Councillor Nigel Haselden, the council’s deputy cabinet member for sustainability, said: “While no one likes getting a ticket, this new system will benefit motorists who get a ticket by making the process of deciding whether to contest it much easier.”
