Julian Speroni has rubbished claims Crystal Palace are a two-man team and says the whole squad deserve praise for their current run.

The Eagles have lost just once in 10 games, a run that has seen the goalkeeping heroics of Speroni and the goalscoring exploits of Darren Ambrose receive high praise.

Some critics have said the Eagles would struggle if they were to lose both players, but Speroni, who registered his fourth clean sheet of the season against Middlesbrough last time out, disagrees.

"Darren is doing so well and scoring goals but it's a full squad working together and you cannot win a game with only two players" he said.

"Some of the jobs of the other guys go unnoticed but everyone has a job to do and at the moment we are doing it.

"Maybe we should be scoring more goals but we are getting results and picking up points.

"We are doing a good job collectively as a team and doing what we didn't do before and maintaining that level of consistency.

"Hopefully if we continue the same way we have a great chance this season."

The Selhurst Park crowd voted Speroni man of the match against Middlesbrough and sang his name as he left the pitch at the end of the game, something he admits almost brought tears to his eyes.

"The fans have been great with me here and to be honest I was a little emotional when that happened," he said.

"It was so nice walking off the pitch with everyone standing and clapping and singing my name.

"It has happened before but this was the biggest reception and it was an amazing feeling, there are no words to describe it.

"I am happy because my form is good but I have been playing like this for the last three years, it's just few people noticed it before.

"One of my aims has always been to be consistent, I don't like to have bad games so it is not surprising for me.

"I am doing the same thing I have been doing but now people are noticing it a bit more but as long as my manager and the Crystal Palace fans notice it I am happy."

Crystal Palace's next three matches: Nov 21 Coventry City (a), 28 Watford (h), Dec 5 Doncaster Rovers (h).
