Weybridge women are set to be the latest to benefit from a new women’s networking group.
The new Athena Women’s Business Networking Group arrives at the Ship Hotel, Weybridge, on Thursday, November 26, and guest speaker Karen Skidmore will be there to inspire guests.
Ms Skidmore’s talk Rollercoasters, Roundabouts and Dead End Streets at the first meeting will tell her journey of creating a business and the struggles she encountered.
She said: “I realised that starting a business from scratch was far harder than I imagined.
"Without any marketing budget, little cash flow and minimal clients, I decided enough was enough. I had to go out and learn how to market myself effectively.”
Athena is a national organisation for women in business and wants new members to join its first Weybridge group.
The aim of Athena is to help women grow their businesses by sharing experiences, exchanging skills and giving referrals in a pressure-free environment.
To book a ticket, which costs £25 and includes lunch, call Robyn Hatley on 01932 422573 or e-mail robyn@theathenanetwork.com.
