If looking after the environment is at the core of your business, or going green has given the company you work for a new lease of life, why not nominate it for a Green Guardian award?

With less than a month to go before entries close, the search is on to find Merton’s best example of a sustainable business.

And according to last year’s winners - Mitcham-based social enterprise Kid Stop - the award is fantastic recognition for the lengths taken to become more sustainable.

Chief executive of Kid Stop, Alex Green, said: “Our key goal is to make Kid Stop a sustainable business in the long term with both an environmental and social purpose.

“Not only is this a great new and niche way for people to recycle in the community, we’re providing really good quality stuff to people who need it.”

The business takes unused or unwanted children's toys and clothing in for recycling and then re-sells the goods at the lowest possible price in deprived areas of south London.

Nominations for all the Merton Green Guardian awards are open, recognising households, primary and secondary schools, green concepts or inventions, individual green champions, and young environmentalists.
