Young artists shone when they took to the stage for Elmbridge Has Talent last month.

The talent show final took place at Reed’s School, Cobham, and was the culmination of weeks of work and countless hours spent perfecting acts to impress the judges.

The evening was an amazing showcase of talents discovered by Impact, formerly known as Elmbridge Youth Forum, which invited schools and youth organisations across the borough to submit acts for the show.

A total of nine acts from Claremont Fan Court School, Rydens School and Esher High School battled it out in hope of winning the top prize of £1,000 for their school council.

Matt Fry, from Rydens School, won with his version of Consider Yourself from the hit musical Oliver and the evening raised more than £600 through ticket sales, which will go to Newlife Foundation, the mayor’s appeal.

Councillor Jan Fuller said: “The evening showed the enthusiasm and high standard of talent in our borough.

Impact has been working extremely hard in the past three years to fund and support young people. Elmbridge Has Talent is just one of many fantastic local opportunities for young people.”
