Top scorer Darren Ambrose insists the only way is up for Crystal Palace after his tenth goal of the season secured victory against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The former Charlton Athletic man latched on to Neil Danns' header to calmly slot past Brad Jones, earning the Eagles a 1-0 win and stretching their current run to one defeat in 10 games.

They now sit 13th in the league, five points off the play-off places and Ambrose believes there is still plenty to come.

"We are going to shock a lot of people this year and the only way is up for us, we are going to aim high," he said.

"We had such a hard run of games and we have come through bar Leicester unscathed.

"We have a good team here that will shock and surprise a lot of people and we have been doing that throughout the season, picking up draws at the likes of QPR and Preston and then putting in a fantastic performance against Middlesbrough and everyone is full of confidence.

"We are going into every game knowing we can win."

Ambrose was also full of praise for manager Neil Warnock, claiming their good relationship was the main reason for his outstanding form in front of goal.

"We get on really well and he makes me laugh a lot of the time when I am on the pitch," he said.

"He mentioned when I first signed he wants me to play with a smile on my face and I have been doing that thanks to him.

"It's no secret we have a good relationship and I think he is a fantastic manager.

"You know when you are doing the right things and you know when you are doing the wrong things.

"He hasn't shouted at me, not yet anyway, and hopefully he doesn't."

Palace's next three matches: Nov 21 Coventry City (a), 28 Watford (h), Dec 5 Doncaster Rovers (h).
