Community groups in Epsom and Ewell have received more than £11,000 from the Community Foundation for Surrey to support their work helping people with mental health problems.

It includes a grant of £5,000 to Work Stress Solutions, who help people with mental health issues back to work and will fund the group’s overheads, allowing them to concentrate on their support work.

A further £1,303 has been awarded to Epsom League of Friends for Mental Health, a social club providing companionship and support for adults who have mental health problems, or who are simply lonely.

The Community Foundation for Surrey has helped raise awareness of mental health issues by awarding £5,000 to charity Love Me Love My Mind towards the costs of their recent Epsom Mental Health Week where events were held to involve the community in breaking down the stigma attached to mental health issues.
