Rides on a Penny Farthing, free cycling lessons and bike maintenance classes will be available to residents of the Battersea Fields Estate as part of a bike fest and fun day between 3pm and 6pm on September 17.
The events are to celebrate the opening of bike lockers on the estate, which has been making efforts to encourage cycling and also become more environmentally friendly by using renewable energy sources.
Fred Ellis from Pedal4Health, one of the groups organising the fun day, says: “I predict the Penny Farthing rides will be a hit with young and old.”
