Sandown Park racecourse in Esher is offering a free meal to its 100,000th paying customer, likely to be at this Saturday’s Variety Club meeting.

The Variety Club is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and a spokesman for Sandown Park said all the stops have been pulled out to ensure Saturday’s event is one of the best Variety Club Days yet.

As well as the usual racing, there will also be a entertainment for kids, including a visit from Fi Fi and Bumble, the popular characters from the show Fi Fi and the Flowertots.

Other entertainment includes face painting and bouncy castles.

Children aged 16 or under can get in for free when accompanied by an adult and all of the children’s entertainment is free of charge.

Adult tickets booked in advance are £18 for grandstand admission and £26 for the premier enclosure.

For each admission ticket that is bought for the Variety Club Day, a contribution is made by Sandown Park to the Variety Club.
