Families can saddle up and discover the joy of riverside cycling this weekend.
Skyride, a scheme aiming to help the British public get on their bikes, will host a free ride along the route of the River Wandle.
The gentle one hour ride, ideal for young families, will start (at 2.30pm) nd finish at Sainsbury’s Save Centre in Colliers Wood on Sunday.
it will be led by experts from national bike organisation British Cycling, who will also provide information and tips on safe cycling.
Skyride is a national project encouraging more people to dust down their bikes and get passionate about pedalling.
The scheme has already run huge rides in city centres including London, Manchester, Glasgow and Leicester - as well as smaller cycles across the country.
Sunday’s 7km route will take in local landmarks including Merton Abbey Mills, Morden Hall Park and Ravensbury Park.
