One million pounds worth of pure heroin has been seized by police in Raynes Park.
Ten kilos of the drug were intercepted by officers when they searched the back of a car parked off Grand Drive.
Two men were arrested at the scene.
The raid, which involved members of the Met’s anti-drugs Central Taskforce, officers from Merton police and sniffer dogs, took place on August 18.
Acting Detective Inspector Dave Thomas of Central Taskforce said: "Heroin of this purity is rare and such a seizure will cause a serious dent in the finances of the criminals concerned.
"The Central Taskforce continues to combat organised crime and disrupt the flow of drugs to the street."
The two men, who are aged 27 and 30 but have not been named by police, were bailed while the officers make further enquiries.
