A willing crew got busy with buckets and sponges to raise more than £100 by washing cars outside Bytes Softwear Services in Chessington Road, Ewell, on Saturday.
The money raised will go to the Chase Children’s Hospice in Guildford and the Help an Angel trust fund, which was set up by Jade Tolfree in 2005 to raise money to buy vital equipment for her younger sister, Sian, a Leatherhead teenager .
Sian was born with a rare congenital disease called DiGeorge Syndrome for which there is no cure.
Now 14, Sian has undergone major heart and lung surgery a number of times and is now dependent on a tube in her stomach to feed her and a wheelchair to help her get out and about. Sian also receives regular care and support from Chase Children’s Hospice.
A quiz night is being held on Saturday, August 22, at Epsom Scout Hut, in Church Road, Epsom, starting at 7pm in aid of the two charities. Tickets are £10 each, including a fish and chip supper, and there is a maximum of six people a team. There will be a raffle and other prizes.
