Julian Speroni: A solid performance from Crystal Palace’s current player of the year. Badly injured towards the end of the first half but after treatment put in decent shift despite Ipswich’s attempts to rough him up. Save of the match on the hour when he got down low to palm Jon Walter’s header round the post. 8

Clint Hill: Dependable at left back, Ipswich did not have much joy down his flank. 8

Paddy McCarthy: Should have scored early on but for the athleticism of Richard Wright in the Ipswich goal. A rock at centre-back. 8

Jose Fonte: Helped set up the third goal after his initial shot in the box was blocked. Picked up the rebound and fed it to Ambrose who crossed for Danns. 8

Danny Butterfield: Lee Martin gave him a couple of anxious moments with his pace but his reading of the game and crossing are a major asset. 8

Alassane N'Diaye: Pacey, powerful and a great first touch. Would have been nine but he ran out of steam and should have been replaced. Championship defences will end up fearing this man. 8

Shaun Derry: Got caught in possession early on, but from there on in was a magnificent performance. Broke up play, put tackles in and passed the ball long and short to get Palace on the attack. 8

Neil Danns: This game showed why Warnock bought Danns to Palace. Box to box running, tackling, passing and a goal. More of the same please. Man of the match. 9

Alan Lee: Could have dropped down a league but he’s here and he’s playing well in a formation and system that brings out his strengths. Very clever for the first goal, Palace fans were singing his name by the end. 8

Freddie Sears: A joy to watch on the ball, excites the fans when he goes forward. Inventive and always wants the ball. We always looked dangerous with Sears in possession. 8

Darren Ambrose: Cast off by Charlton, Warnock has worked his magic again. Took all the free kicks and corners, can pick a pass and scored two goals. 9
