After fighting for life for nearly two months, the last member of a Tooting family ravaged after arsonists torched their house has been released from hospital in time to attend his sister’s funeral.

Junaid Masud, 17, suffered burns and smoke inhalation after arsonists poured petrol through the letterbox of the family’s Lessingham Avenue home on June 21.

Both his sisters died following the attack.

Maleha, 15, died on June 25 and was buried last month. Nabiha, 21, died on July 25 and was buried earlier this week.

Junaid's brother Zain, 22, was released from hospital about a month after the blaze.

A source confirmed Junaid, who was in a critical condition for much of his time in hospital, had been released but said he still required intense medical attention.

Arsonists struck at the family’s home about 4.35am.

Rubina and Zain jumped from a first-floor window to escape the blaze, but the other siblings had to be rescued by firefighters.

Nabiha was resuscitated at the scene.

Police appealed to Tooting’s youth community to come forward with information.

Rasal Khan, 18, of Leicester, and Shihabuddin Choudhury, 20, from Beeston, Nottingham, have been charged with the murder of Maleha and Rubina.

A 14-year-old boy from Croydon has been charged with Maleha’s murder and four counts of attempted murder.
