Olympic gold medalist Matthew Pinsent visited Nestle in Croydon on Monday (August 17) to kick off their Be a Good Sport week.
The scheme sees employees take part in a virtual relay between the company’s nine UK sites, from Croydon in the south, to Girvan in Scotland.
Staff will clock up 1,000km between the sites by walking, running, swimming, rowing or cycling.
They hope to raise £10,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care, as part of their annual partnership with the charity that looks to raise £250,000.
That is equivalent to 12,500 hours of home nursing care for terminally ill patients and their families in local communities.
