Chocoholics in Croydon celebrated Australia Day the antipodean way when they took part in a world record attempt this weekend.

The Walkabout pub in Crown Hill was one of many throughout the country to stage a world record attempt at the Tim Tam Slam a tradition Down Under of dunking and sucking tea through a chocolate biscuit.

Around 200 people simultaneously dunked and sucked their biscuits at the Croydon pub on Sunday night.

Organisers estimate that 30,000 people throughout the country took part in the Tim Tam Slam at various Walkabout pubs.
