Residents on Croydon Council's Shrublands estate celebrated the official launch of their very own website, aimed at further building a sense of community, at their local Advice & Coffee Shop on Tuesday.
The website www.shrublands.net has been built by the residents and contains news about local community events and issues, copies of local newsletters, along with pages compiled by the estate's younger residents entitled Youth Matters, and offers the opportunity to learn how to use the Internet.
There is even a cookery section where local people can contribute their own recipes, handy hints and fascinating food facts. Residents can access the site at home or using computers just installed at the Advice & Coffee Shop at 7 Broom Road.
