Julian Speroni: Two fantastic saves kept Palace in this game and he’s sure to be a key man for them again this campaign. 8
Nathanial Clyne: Looked nervous in the first half and given a torrid time by Mackie. Settled down after the break but not his best performance. 6
Paddy McCarthy: Given a true test by Fallon and more than matched him most of the time but had to be rescued by Speroni once. 6
Matt Lawrence: Given a late call-up to replace Fonte and proved to be an adequate understudy. 6
Clint Hill: As committed and robust as ever and played the last 10 minutes despite getting a knock. 6
Shaun Derry: Saw a fair amount of the ball in the middle of the park and distributed it well. 6
Neil Danns: Tenacious performance and got stuck in but failed to provide any spark. 6
Alassane N'Diaye: Handed a surprise debut by Warnock and the teenager shows his qualities with some nice touches and runs. 6
Freddie Sears: Full of running up front and was a constant threat. Denied by Larrieu three times but should have scored one. Man of the match. 8
Victor Moses: Looked like a player desperate to impress and gave Plymouth a dreadful time. Great cross for Lee’s goal. 8
Stern John: A great chance early on in his debut but looks like he could be out for a while after a nasty fall. 6
Subs:
Alan Lee (John, 37): Took his header well and looked fitter than last season. 6
Darren Ambrose (Danns, 60): Some nice touches and crosses. More to come from him. 6
Sean Scannell (Moses, 79): Didn't really get in the game. 5
