The Momeraths are returning to Kingston for a Banquet Records – New Slang double header next Thursday.

The band, who recently performed at Glastonbury, will be celebrating the release of their new single, Millipede Stomps and they gave us the lowdown on what they’ve got in store for the gigs.

Are you looking forward to playing two shows in one day in Kingston? Of course. We all met in Kingston and always enjoy our Kingston shows.

What have you got planned for the two sets? We will make them both a little special in their own ways. For the instore we thought it'd be nice to serve cake, biscuits and tea, and for the new slang show we're planning to decorate the whole of McClusky’s in flowers and vine leaves as it is Alice in Wonderland fancy dress!

If you could nick one record from Banquet what would it be? Oh goodness.. im not sure we could pick one.. they've got so many great little 7 inches. Maybe the disco version of Half in Love with Elizabeth by the Mystery Jets.

Tell us about your new single, Millipede Stomps Well, Millipede Stomps is one of our favourites to play. It is going to be released on seven inch by New Slang Records which we’re ecstatic about. Little Claire can't wait as she designed the cover! Also if you preorder or purchase it in the first week you will get a free copy of the Dolly Mixtures EP which will include Millipede Stomps.

How was Glastonbury? Wonderful! The gigs we played were great and the audiences were brilliant too, it was like a big Momeraths party!

What was the best act you saw there? Blur were brilliant but there was lots of other great stuff too. Paolo liked Micachu and the Shapes and Claire has a secret love for The Wombats. Michael and Richard loved Fleet Foxes and Adnan was getting his groove on to N.E.R.D and Q Tip!

Fantasy festival line-up The Beatles, Kate Bush, Billy Joel, Lionel Ritchie, The Stones, Belle and Sebastian, Mamas and the Papas, Bob Dylan, Ah, there are too many to choose!

Nightmare line-up Bryan Ferry in the 80s, Stevie Wonder after 1966, Neil Young after 1978 and any Emerson, Lake and Palmer or Genesis.

Best moment so far Playing Glastonbury we think, or this tour so far, playing shows and seeing people in the crowd singing all of our lyrics, thats a lovely thing.

Most embarrassing moment so far Being laughed at by people on the motorway as we're all piled up to our knecks in our Toyota Yaris, with all our equipment in a heatwave.

Song you wish you had written A Poem on the Undeground Wall by Simon and Garfunkel.
