A blood donor from Kingston has been honoured after he rolled up his sleeves and donated blood 100 times.
Harry Matthews received a crystal decanter from the National Blood Service (NBS) at a ceremony in Covent Garden.
Each blood donation can save the lives of up to three people.
Zeeshan Asghar, for the NBS, said: “Only 3 per cent of donors reach their 75th donation, while less than 1 per cent make it to 100 donations.
“We are proud to reward these incredible people, these silent heroes, who have rolled up their sleeves so many times over the years to help save lives.
"We really hope more people will follow their example.”
