Dulwich and West Norwood MP Tessa Jowell has denied rumours she is standing down at the next election.
An article in the Mail on Sunday claimed Labour sources said it was an “open secret” she did not intend to fight for her seat at the next election.
But Ms Jowell said this was "totally untrue".
She added: “I have been reselected as the Labour candidate for Dulwich and West Norwood and it is my intention to stand at the next election.
"I believe in politics and am 1,000 per cent committed to delivering a successful Olympics in 2012.”
