A woman from Chessington has appeared in court alongside six others in connection with a suspected multimillion pound conspiracy to sexually exploit trafficked women.
The charges come after police raided a suspected brothel in Glenbuck Court, Surbiton on Wednesday morning as part of a wider series of eight other raids.
Unemployed Nikki Chen, 55, and her partner Michael Victor Dalton, 43, both unemployed, of Kingston Road, Leatherhead, appeared at Westminster City Magistrates' Court on Friday morning charged with trafficking women from Eastern Europe and East Asia into prostitution.
Li Yen Lew, 28, from Grange Road, Chessington was charged with conspiracy to control prostitution, controlling prostitution and money laundering.
Four others - Ian Garrett, 46, of Kingston Road, Epsom, two women from London and a women from Maidenhead - were also charged.
All seven will appear at Southwark Crown Court on September 3.
