A 19-year-old man was stabbed in Coulsdon by a gang of youths.
The teenager was left with a puncture wound to his back when he was attacked at about 12.30am on June 28.
The unprovoked attacktook place on a footbridge between Woodman road and St. Andrews road.
The victim was approached from behind by a group of young males as he was walking home last Sunday.
He was struck on the back by an unknown male in the group but continued to walk home, where he discovered the stab wound.
He called and ambulance and taken to a south London hospital to receive treatment.
The man has now been released from hospital and is hoping that witnesses may help him find his attackers.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
PC Vicky Courtnell said: “This is a seemingly random attack on a young man. I am appealing for anyone that may have been in the area to come forward with information as to what happened.
"This kind of violence will not be tolerated and I am keen to hear from any witnesses to help progress this case and bring those responsible to justice.”
