With the season now over football-starved teenagers from across south London took part in a new three-a-side version of the beautiful game, designed to encourage better skill and technique than its 11-a-side equivalent.
Youngsters aged 12-19 joined forces in teams of three at the Wandle Recreation Centre last Sunday (June 28) to try and win the inaugural/annual tournament called T3 "Now Football Comes In Threes".
There were three age categories, under-15s, 17s and-19s.
The under-15s was won by Junction Allstars, while both the under-17s and the under-19s categories were won by teams from Henry Compton School in Fulham.
Organiser Joseph Maye said: “We had over 180 youths participate from 12 to 19 years old from across south London with another 50-80 youth turned up to register on the day, by this time each category was totally full.
“The numbers who attended totally exceeded our expectations as we had only 10 days to promote.”
