Elmbridge Council has splashed out by giving the showers at the Hurst Pool in Dunstall Way, East Molesey, a makeover.

The renovation project has left the shower areas clean with new cubicles.

Additional funding came from the Government, which is supporting pools taking part in the Free Swimming initiative - a national scheme that subsidises free swimming to those aged 16 and under and 60 and over.

Councillor Jan Fuller, portfolio-holder for leisure and culture, said: “The refurbishment of the shower areas at the Hurst Pool will enhance the swimming experience further. Elmbridge Council is proud to participate in the two year scheme.

“This initiative has greatly improved access to swimming for large sections of the local community, both at the Hurst Pool and at the Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex in Walton”.
