Thames Philharmonic Choir performs its summer concert on July 11in the Barn Church, Atwood Avenue, Kew.
The summer concert will feature music by Henry Purcell to mark that it is now 350 years since his birth. His works that will be performed by the choir include extended excerpts from the opera Dido and Aeneas, featuring the mezzo-soprano Heather Shipp, one of his coronation anthems for James II and a glorious setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in G minor.
The rest of the programme includes another setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, this time by the choir's accompanist, Roger Beeson and Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs.
Local musician Benjamin Costello will be accompanying at the organ and the concert will as ever be conducted by John Bate.
