A dedicated donor has claimed an award for giving blood.
Wimbledon resident Roger Mathews, 70, was presented with a trophy by the National Blood Service (NBS) at a ceremony in central London.
Mr Mathews, of Durrington Park Road, was one of 122 top donors honoured during the celebration.
NBS spokesman Zeeshan Asghar said: “Only 3 per cent of donors reach their 75th donation. We are proud to reward these incredible people, these silent heroes, who have rolled up their sleeves so many times over the years to help save lives.”
