Boris Johnson can expect a frosty reception from some residents when he comes to town this month.
The London Mayor, who will visit Croydon on July 22, approved plans or a huge development in Cherry Orchard Road, Addiscombe.
Now residents and Labour councillors are planning a mass protest against his lack of intervention.
Sean Fitzsimons, of the Addiscombe Labour Party, said: “If we want to build an economic road to recovery in Croydon it won't be achieved by building fancy skycrapers no-one will fund, or have the money to buy.
“Cherry Orchard Road and East Croydon station need regenerating now, not in 10 years time. Boris needs to show he is a Mayor who listens to residents and isn’t in the thrall of developers or skyscraper fixated Tory councillors.”
