Voting begins today on the Nonsuch by-election called after the death of a councillor.
Resident will vote for either: Liberal Democrat Gerry Jerome, 55, a director of an IT consultancy; Conservative Georg Braun, 41, a businessman, Labour's Marcus Papadopoulos, 30, a freelance journalist or British National Party candidate Peter North, 63, a retired engineer.
The by-election was called after the sudden death of Conservative councillor Chris Dunlop.
A council spokesman said the count will take place in the Civic Offices and ballot boxes are expected to begin arriving shortly after 10pm when voting ends.
He said the result to be announced around 11.30pm to midnight.
