Staines Town skipper Danny Gordon isn’t concerned by the club’s lack of activity in the transfer market.

The Swans are yet to sign up any fresh faces – despite their Blue Square South rivals being busy adding to their squad.

Gordon, who has agreed terms to stay on for another campaign, is returning to pre-season training on Thursday with the rest of last year’s promotion winning side.

The defender says not many new additions are required with plenty of belief within the camp despite chairman Alan Boon’s recent health concerns.

He said: “I’ve spoke to Steve (Cordery) about it and as ever he’s playing his cards quite close to his chest.

“We’ve not signed anyone yet but I think that speaks volumes for the faith he’s got with the current squad. We don’t need an overhaul.

“I’m sure he’ll add one or two but as a whole we’re confident in our ability. We’re a close group and the fact we’ve not gone out and signed loads of people isn’t a problem.”

Gordon wishes Boon a speedy recovery following his worrying heart-attack last Monday.

The chairman remains in hospital but is said to be improving on a daily basis.

The captain said: “It’s simple really, without Alan Boon there is no Staines Town Football Club.

“Everyone wants him back as quickly as possible. He’s a great man and the players are all looking forward to visiting him when the time is right.”
