Generally, in half term, there isn’t much for children to do. But this year with the ‘Change for life’ being advertised on the radio and the television, there is much more variety in the activities on offer for the week starting Monday 25th May 2009.

Through the post there was sent out a National Family week leaflet. When looking at it from the front it looks just a normal leaflet but when opened up the bland cover reveals an exciting planner for the week, telling you something that is on every day. For example; a family recipe competition or film Friday. Plus, there are vouchers around the edge of the planner to make everything a little bit cheaper for the parents, so its not such an expensive half term. Also Morden park pools are intertwined with ‘change for life’ to give children under the age of 16 to be able to swim for no cost when registered on the internet. Therefore, there is generally more to do this half term, with everyone trying to get fitter, trying to live longer there is much more variety than just going to the local park and sitting down doing nothing. Even in the park you could go for a walk or a jog or you could go and climb some trees.

So, in general, there is much more to do in half term and even more ways to get fit in the process.
