Hundreds of walkers were out in Croydon to raise money for breast cancer charities.
Kate Holmes was Croydon’s organiser of the Avon Crocus Walks, which saw thousands of Avon representatives across the country walk for charity on June 2.
Mrs Holmes said: “Breast cancer is one of the most important issues for women and I’m very proud to be involved in such an inspiring community event.”
Anna Segatti, president of Avon UK, added: “As a breast cancer survivor myself, it’s great to see the huge enthusiasm shown by women across the country. Thanks to the fantastic support for events like our Crocus Walks, we’ve been able to raise almost £15 million in the UK for breast cancer charities.”
With almost 46,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer each year, it is one of the UK’s most devastating diseases.
The money raised through Avon’s Crocus Walks will help Breakthrough Breast Cancer to fund vital research and work towards a joint vision of a future free from the fear of breast cancer.
