This picture shows a fallen tree that caused chaos and tram cancellations when it fell on some power lines yesterday morning.
Engineers near the Woodside tram stop laboured for four hours to clear the tree and repair the lines so they could get the Beckenham Junction and Elmers End trams running.
A spokesman from Transport for London said: “The tree had fallen into some overhead power lines at 04.40am.
“Lines one and two were down for four hours.
“We sent in engineers and they worked to suspend the power, remove the tree and then start them back on again.
“The tram was down for four hours.
“We got it up and running as soon as possible.”
He said they did not know why the tree had fallen down.
