Two Streatham Vale men and a Gipsy Hill teenager who were part of an armed gang responsible for more than two dozen violent thefts across London have been jailed.
The 10-strong team, all part of the Mitcham-based Terrorzone gang, targeted 25 security vans and cash machines during their year-long spree.
The robbers, who netted around £750,000 from the raids, were sentenced to a combinedtotal of 27 years at Kingston Crown Court on Friday.
They would target the machines and vehicles as they were being refilled and attack or threaten to shoot guards as they carried out the thefts.
A police spokesman said they wore balaclavas, bandanas and masks to hide their identity and usually wore gloves to prevent forensic identification.
All 10, including a 16-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit cash in transit robberies.
Ashley Thompson, 19, of Hawkhurst Road, in Streatham Vale, was sentenced to the longest jail term – seven years – while Ashley Nevers of Woodmansterne Road got three years. Nineteen-year-old Cassius Trottman-Wilson of Antigua Walk, in Gipsy Hill, was given a two-and-a-half year jail term.
