Councillor Richard Mantle named Banstead mayor
There are no complications in Reigate and Banstead because its new mayor Councillor Richard Mantle is not in an election fight.
His wife Ruth is the new Mayoress and Councillor Mrs Jill Bray is deputy Mayor.
In his inaugural speech Coun Mantle said he wanted to “make a difference” and “to give this council’s thanks, its praise and encouragement to the volunteers, carers and the public who help to make this borough’s life so rich with a seam of caring that flows through our communities.”
