Chipstead have named former Croydon FC boss Mark Tompkins as their new manager.
He beats more than 20 other applicants who applied to replace Nick English who left earlier this month following four years at the helm.
Acting Chips chairman Keith Harvey was delighted with the appointment.
He said: “We have been extremely impressed by the level of candidates making our shortlist but our interview panel confirmed Mark’s extensive experience as a player in the Ryman league combined with his proven managerial ability at Kent League Premier level gave him the edge over some strong competition.
"We feel Mark will fit well within the Chipstead set up and know he has already begun preparing for the season ahead.”
Chipstead are still waiting to find out if they will be saved from relegation to the Combined Counties after the FA met yesterday to decide on the new Ryman League constitution.
