A pet trainer who performed with her dog Tippy-Toes on Britain’s Got Talent is hoping the experience will raise awareness of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
Jackie Prescott, from Oxford, worked as the animal rescue charity’s groomer for three years, and she and Tippy-Toes would often wow crowds at events with their heel-work to music routines and specially choreographed dances.
Jackie said: “Tippy-Toes and I are so excited to be involved in Britain’s Got Talent, and I hope that our involvement in the show will help to raise awareness about how fantastic Battersea dogs are. Tippy-Toes is such a clever little dog with a wonderful character and it is a privilege owning her.
“We hope that dog lovers across the country will support our act as it would be the most fantastic honour for Tippy-Toes and I, and for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, if we got to perform in front of Her Majesty the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.”
Felicity Brotherton, animal welfare manager at the home, said: “Everyone at the Home is so proud of Jackie and Tippy-Toes. Tippy-Toes the dancing Staffordshire bull terrier cross is a firm favourite with all the staff at the home.
"She always brings a smile to our faces and we want Jackie to know that all of her friends and colleagues at Battersea are rooting for her.”
