Teachers from a Kenyan school are in Twickenham this week as part of a fortnight visit to continue a growing partnership.
Rosaniah Gwiyo and Abinithar Otiende, from Madogo Secondary School, have been at Waldegrave School for Girls during the first visit of a partnership exchange as the Fifth Cross Road school attempts to widen understanding between other cultures and to share education projects.
Twickenham Rotary Club have organised visits to Kew Gardens, Ham House and the National Physical Laboratory for the Kenyan teachers and Councillor Helen Lee-Parsons, Mayor of Richmond, took them on a tour of the council buildings.
In July Waldegrave teachers Caroline Croll, Nicole Becherian and Nicole Davis will be making the return trip and the links have been well established as Waldegrave students have designed t-shirts for Madogo students and in return received letters and art work.
A school spokesman said it was looking forward to a long and fruitful partnership.
