A war veteran will accuse his MP of failing to represent him properly in court today.
John Taylor believes Ann Keen, the Labour MP for Brentford and Isleworth in west London, did not do enough to help him in a bid for compensation for a wrongful conviction.
The 84-year-old claimed he sent more than 100 letters to the Brentford and Isleworth MP asking for her support to gain compensation for a miscarriage of justice in 1962. He spent three years in prison after being wrongly convicted of stealing £17.
Mrs Keen, a junior health minister, firmly rejects his allegation and insists she made numerous representations on his behalf but was unable to secure a payout.
Brentford County Court initially found against the MP when she failed to turn up for a previous hearing, awarding Mr Taylor, of Estridge Close, Hounslow, £15,000 in damages.
It is believed it is the first breach of duty case of its kind.
More follows later.
