A fundraiser clad in Imperial Stormtrooper body armour ran the London Marathon in less time than it takes to watch the original Star Wars trilogy.

Spencer Rolls, 37, from Sutton, raised funds for the Project 65 military charity by completing the 26.2-mile course in five hours and 54 minutes.

He said: “The support of the Sutton Guardian helped and lots of people were interested in why I was running this.

"It was hard work and not without blood and almost tears. Now I am trying to think what to do for the next one.”
