Tim O'Shea believes cup final glory tomorrow night would be the perfect end to a perfect five months since he joined Croydon Athletic in December.

The Rams were struggling at the bottom of Ryman Division One South despite a summer of investment when O'Shea was brought in to replace Dave Garland and the former Grays manager quickly steered them away from danger.

With just two league defeats in 27 games the Thornton Heath-based club ended the season in 10th place and face Hendon in the final of the London Senior Cup at Kingsmeadow this evening, with O'Shea wanting to add silverware to the fine end to the season.

"It's going to be a massive ask and we all respect Hendon are in the league above us," he said.

"We know we are going in as underdogs but we will go there with every thought of trying to win it, there's no point otherwise.

"If we can add this to our run of two defeats in 27 games it will be a fantastic achievement."

O'Shea has made a number of changes to the playing staff since he took over the reigns at the KT Stadium and admitted there might be more in the summer as he looks to sustain a promotion push next year.

"When I first came to the club it was about staying in the league," he said.

"Then we wanted to finish as strongly as we could to get a momentum going forward for next season and we have achieved that.

"We have stabilised the club and assembled a squad who are capable of making serious a challenge next year.

"But we will be busy in the summer, there will be a few additions and unfortunately some players might be leaving us but that's part and parcel of the game."

Striker Scott Todd is struggling to be fit for the final with a hamstring strain, while Karl Murray, Sol Pinnock and Joe Howe are cup-tied.
